The aim of this magazine is to connect the communities of Hindu Kush, Himalaya, Karakorum and Pamir by providing them a common accessible platform for production and dissemination of knowledge.
About us
WeMountains online offers research-based insights on the socio-cultural, economic, developmental and environmental issues around the lesser-known dwellers of the mountains of Himalaya, Hindu Kush, Karakorum and Pamir who lag far behind in the run for social development, self assertion and identity. WeMountains publish first hand articles by scholars, activists, researchers and explorers from among the mountainous communities as well as by scholars who carry research on the cultures, languages, resources and folklore of these communities.
WeMountains is a bilingual—English and Urdu—web based journal sponsored by the civil society organization Idara Baraye Taleem-o-Taraqi (IBT).
At the end of each year a print volume of selected articles and papers from the online journal is also published.
